Missions Conference
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009
You may have noticed, nothing has been said about an upcoming Missions Conference for this fall and there is a good reason for it. The Missions Committee recommended the Missions Conference be moved to the spring of each year.
The most significant reason for this move is so the Missions Conference would not have to compete with other financial appeals at the same time of the year. In the past, 3 appeals for money were before the church family during the fall – a new budget, year-end giving, and pledges to the Great Commission Fund which supports missionaries of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. It was believed missions would be better supported if we move the conference to the early Spring.
With this in mind, our Missions Conference will not take place in the fall of this year, but in late winter of 2010. The
dates for the Conference are February 28-March 7. The missionaries will be announced as we get closer to the date. Planning has just begun and more information will be forthcoming. In addition, the Clousers will be home from Burkina Faso and will join us for a weekend in March to catch up with their dynamic ministry in Africa.
Circle your calendars for the week of February 28-March 7 and keep giving as you currently are to the Great Commission Fund while we anticipate a new pledge drive in 2010. Christ established worldwide missions in Matthew 28 and Acts 1. That mission continues today with us and until He comes again. May He find us faithful.
Blessings,
Pastor Mike
