The Audacity of Hope is “a bold expectation of our resurrection.”
Question: “Why would God forgive us our sin & reconcile us to Himself through Jesus’ death & not give us a future with Him after we die?”
Answer: He wants fellowship with us.
Radical: The “when” is real easy
- Jesus’ 2nd coming — last trumpet
- End of human history as we know it
- Transformation of our bodies — dead or alive
- Instantaneous – a moment, twinkling of an eye
Radical Transformation
- Perishable to imperishable
- This means from mortal to immortal
- Dishonorable to glorious
- This means from sinful to perfected image of God
- Weak to powerful
- This means from unable to defeat to always able
- Natural to spiritual
- This means from fit fro this earth to fit for the New Earth
Responsive
- Steadfast – “Sit-in“
- Immovable – “Freeze Frame“
- Abounding in Christ’s work – “to sweat for Christ“
