“The Audacity of Hope” – Part I

Easter Series

“God’s Stimulus Package” #5

1 Corinthians 15

Audacity means… bold, daring, confident, disregard conventional thought

Hope means… expectation

Audacity of Hope means… a bold expectation of our resurrection

Our hope is reliable (verses 1-11)

There were witnesses:

  • Peter and the twelve
  • 500 other people
  • James, Jesus’ brother
  • Paul
Our hope is reasonable (verses 12-34)
  • Some were saying “No resurrection”
  • If so, then Jesus wasn’t raised
  • Our preaching and believing would be pointless
  • We would be lying about God
  • Christians who died wouldn’t live again
  • Might as well “live it up”
Think for a moment!
What would our lives as Christians be like without Jesus’ resurrection? Pointless!
A Question:
“Why would God forgive our sins and reconcile us to Himself through Jesus’ death, and not give us a future with Him after we die?
Life Points:
  • Jesus was raised, so we will be raised
  • Since we will be raised, we have hope
  • If we have hope, we can boldly live for Him
